:
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Olga Luepschen -- Incredible book! : I have been excitedly awaiting this book to be released since seeing it on Facebook. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Pam Thomas -- Dr Crane is raw and vulnerable in her story : Drop the ‘S’ is a story that’s laced with pain, fear and vulnerability. Dr Crane truly dropped the facade of the perfect woman — high achiever, successful by societal standards, happy family — and showed us what really was behind the scenes. While I don’t think I suffer from the Superwoman Syndrome she refers to, I certainly can relate to burying myself in work because I was feeling like a failure at home. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from PattiB -- Touching and inspiring : In a single sitting, I devoured the author’s story while crying, laughing, sending prayerful thoughts (and thankfulness for her courage to be transparent), commiserating and having ‘ah-ha’ moments - especially resonating with the information on adrenal fatigue. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Stephanie Cress -- Amen to dropping the S! : I am not a super hero, but Moms are pulling the weight of super heros daily. Ladies, less judging more supporting is the key to surviving this race called life. Im so grateful to my tribe that keeps me sane and supportive parenting partner! • 5.0 out of 5 stars from G. Saenger -- I Loved this book : guidance to turn a busy life into an enjoyable and balanced healthy life. As a businesswoman, wife, and mother, I feel as if this book was written for me. Thank you, Marybeth, for spelling it all out there. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon customer -- Every woman should read! : Every mom should read this book. So many of us expect ourselves to parent like we don't work, and to work like we don't parent. The constant pressure we place on ourselves leads to burnout and a host of health issues. Dr. Crane outlines her journey dealing with this "Superwoman's Syndrome" along with a how-to guide to pull out. It is an enjoyable read with an important message for so many of us! • 5.0 out of 5 stars from DA -- excellent read : A fast read. It was like "ripping off the bandaid" to see where the wounds were hidden and how best to treat them. The book is about self-care, which I truly believe in. You can go down a destructive path only to realize that in order to take care of everything about your life that is important and meaningful - family, friends, career - you have to take care of yourself first. That is what this book outlines in every single detail. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Primer -- Superb : When I look back only thirty years to see just how women were still being treated like second hand citizens, I found it hard to believe. Women have only fully broken into society in the past ten years, and still many would argue even with that. America has advanced so far when it comes to women's rights, and the rights of all people in general. This book highlights the women aspect of things. I feel women have far more responsibilities than do men. I see it in my own wife. It is like they have to further prove their worth than does a man. But why? Is it because their rights, their freedoms are still fresh in their minds, or are they being judged by other women who need to have it all? Superwomen are everywhere. They have so much on their plate that they are bound to get burned out. I greatly appreciate their efforts and applaud their successes but again I feel sometimes they stretch themselves too far, even (talking of myself here) when asked to slow down and take it easy. They are full-steam ahead. The book addresses all these syndromes I have just described here, actually giving logical reasons as to why for many of them--overcompensating for low self-esteem being the main reason. The author tries to validate her superwoman syndrome, only to finally reach the conclusion that she needed to really look at the big picture and see the important things she was missing out on by being so frazzled. It is a self-exploratory novel, one which I feel will help a great many women, even the husbands of those women, who find themselves in similar situations.
