  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Allyssa Painter -- Good with emotions, but a bit long. : This is a cute book that deals with a hard issue. I really like how it focuses on how Eileen is feeling and how she knows she's supposed to be happy but she isn't always. It does a great job dealing with a previously only child having a younger sibling and having to share attention. I like the rhythm it has throughout the story and the rhymes, though sometimes the rhymes aren't really rhymes and sometimes the book uses some big words that would be hard for young kids simply to keep the rhythm and rhyme scheme. It's also a bit long for a young kid. It's best suited for attention spans of kids 4+ in my opinion, which may not be the target audience, as many children book big siblings around 2 or 3. My 2 year old did listen to the whole story, but became very wiggly and had to get up and move a lot during it. We couldn't just sit and read it all the way through due to its length. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Candice Wilcox -- A good way to understand emotion : A new baby comes home! Jealousy hits. The child begins to act out in out of character ways. They begin to cry.. Both parents don’t understand what to do! A psychologist suggests a book which may help to understand the child’s behavior. In this book, a child doesn’t understand the feelings inside the tummy. She feels upset that her parents are seemingly busy. One night her parents find her looking at the baby. Her parents see her, and the emotions just come out of her daughter. She finally lets her feelings out of her heart. Mom and Dad help her to identify the feelings of loneliness. All her feelings are safe to feel and talk about! Many children may feel this way when a new child is born. Changes in the house. Changes in how everyone interacts. This book will help kids feel it's normal to have feelings. Parents can use this book to help understand their child, alongside their child not feeling lonely in their own feelings! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021 )

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Ashley Kemp -- Great story about feelings : I loved that this wasn't just about the little girl being a big sister. She was in a myriad of emotions that are hard for kids to sort through and deal with - which is why this is so great. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Beagle Mom -- Perfect story for a big sister! : This book is such a good read for a child who just became a big sister. This book demonstrates the many obstacles that everyone goes through when there’s a new addition to the family. We recently went through this with my daughter becoming a big sister. They described each situation perfectly and how rewarding it is at the end! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Beth Steffens -- Adorable Story! Great life cycle of becoming a big sister : This is one of the best books that I’ve found on becoming a big sister. I love how the story begins when her mom is early pregnant and follows all the way through to the 4th trimester. The mom and dad display great parenting and good postpartum support to the mother. This would make a great gift for a new big sister. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from BT -- Good book for an older sibling who is going to have a new baby in the family : I received a complimentary copy of I Am a Big Sister Now to review. This was a cute book that covers the experience and feelings that an older sibling has when there’s a new baby in the family. My niece is going to be a big sister soon and I know she’s going to enjoy this book and I hope it will help her cope with her big feelings as the new baby comes. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Michelle -- Great conversation starter for growing families! : This book will help start the conversation about how your daughter us truly feeling about the new baby coming. It makes asking hard questions a little easier for mom and daughter! It also makes me think about how easy it is to miss something my child could be feeling and how easy it is that they can feel left out. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2021 )
